Employment Capacity Building
Work is a fundamental path through which we can all contribute to our communities, using our individual skills and abilities. At Unlocking Potential OT, we believe that all people have the ability to work if that is one of their goals. We support clients to enhance their work readiness and to explore employment options according to their personal interests and capacities.
Home Modifications
Modifications of the home environment are designed to facilitate independence, engagement, and quality of life. We can provide assessment from minor modifications, such as grab rail installations, to more complex modifications such as bathroom or kitchen remodeling to enhance accessibility.
Driving Assessments and Vehicle Modifications
Driving independently can be a valuable skill that facilitates greater independence in community engagement and participation. Occupational Therapy Driving Assessments review a client's capacity for driving through assessment of their sensory, physical, and cognitive functioning.
We also offer recommendations for vehicle modifications in order to facilitate driving or traveling as a passenger and for the stowing of necessary mobility equipment.
Functional Capacity Assessments
Our functional capacity assessments are designed to identify the client's individual strengths and their areas of need for support. Through providing this evidence to funding bodies, appropriate levels of support can be provided to allow the client to meet their needs and fulfill their personal goals.
assistive technology assessment
Appropriate assistive technology or equipment can provide the means through which clients can overcome obstacles to many daily activities. We can provide assessment and prescription of a wide range of assistive technology solutions, such as wheelchairs and mobility aids, showering equipment, pressure relieving mattresses or cushions, kitchen aids, and much more.
SDA and Sil assessments
Appropriate housing and levels of support for daily tasks provide the fundamental base from which clients can pursue all their life goals. Our SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) and SIL (Supported Independent Living) assessments support clients to access NDIS funding to enable their housing and support level needs.
HOME SAFETY assessments
Our team is experienced in providing OT support within the aged care sector. A Home Safety Assessment will support clients over 65 to maximise their level of safety and independence. This assists our clients to improve their quality of life and to remain in their own home safely for as long as possible.
